Project A

Before pjoe.net there was Project A — an online cult-film and music zine run from Rotterdam by Hubert Roth, Paul Posse and Tom Mes, with me as music editor. It went up in early 1997 and ran in numbered episodes. What follows is my own writing from it: the Cult of New Core essays, the Short Cuts review columns, the interviews, and the film blurbs I signed at the Rotterdam festival.

Only pieces carrying my name or initials are reproduced here. Everything else on that site belongs to the people who wrote it. Project A was a group effort and the rest of it was theirs: Hubert Roth and Paul Posse as co-editors, Tom Mes on film and the Hong Kong interviews, Ilone Brijs with the Vrouw Brijs column, Mijke Niks on de Binnenkant, Laurens Lammers on food, Edgar Kruize on music and film, and Sander and Jeroen van Pelt. The photography and design were theirs too. Their work is not republished here.

The two-part history of electronic dance music appeared first on Project A and now lives under Articles, so it is not repeated here.
