About this archive

I wrote about music between roughly 1994 and 2008. Most of it was for Opscene, an alternative music magazine published in Dordrecht and run by a small group of writers — several of whom went on to Oor or started magazines of their own. The interviews here were done in the last years of the previous century.

pjoe.net went up in 1998 and stayed online for about a decade. Then it went quiet, and eventually the server stopped answering. When I went looking for the old pages in October 2026 they were gone — except at the Internet Archive, which had kept copies going back to 1999.

Everything here was recovered from those captures. The text is as it was written, typos and all; only the layout is new. The original site was built with framesets, which is why some of it survives only as fragments. Where a page could not be recovered it is absent rather than invented.

Thank you to the Internet Archive. This site would not exist without them, and they run on donations.

Project A

The Project A section is my own writing from the zine of the same name, which ran from 1997 to 1999. It was a group effort: Hubert Roth, Paul Posse and Tom Mes were the editors, with Ilone Brijs, Mijke Niks, Laurens Lammers, Edgar Kruize, Sander van Pelt and Jeroen van Pelt contributing. Their work is theirs and is not republished here.
