What is this shit?

This is what you could call a homepage. But it is more a collection of all the stuff I've been doing. It started as a number of interviews I had done in Dutch for a music magazine called Opscene. I wanted more people to be able to read my work, so I translated it and put it online. Over the years it has become more and more.

When did you start doing this?

Early 1995, only a year after I got my internet connection. But I've been busy doing it a lot longer. I was always interested in music as a child, I got really serious in the early 90's and from that moment on there was no stopping me. This is a hell of a hobby and I'll go out of my way to letting you know about it. I want to tell other people of all the thing's I have discovered. There's so much out there everybody should know about and this is the most intense and personal way I know how.

Why the hell do you do it?

Because I'm on a mission. No seriously. Because I think there are too few people doing this. Too many people are doing things because they want to make money I just want to inform people about the things I have found out. Music is one of the most wonderful things. If there's one reason we should live, it's music. Oh well, that's what I think, don't take my word for it, pick out any work of the artists below and then try and disagree with me.

Who are you?

I'm Joep Vermaat a twenty-something from the biggest harbor in the world, Rotterdam, Holland. I'm a music geek in my spare time and a computer geek whenever I work.

What is your goal?

I don't know. This site has been expanding in all directions over the years. I would like to be in music or journalism professionally, but until now I've been doing what I'm also good at, doing internet stuff. But if you have a nice job for me involving music or journalism, let me know. I'm your man.
